You finally got your beautiful eyelash extensions! That’s amazing! Now as an eyelash stylist I’m going to tell you what you can do to make it last longer, how to keep it clean and fluffy, and what kind of cosmetic will help you to achieve it and what you should stay away from.
- The first 24 hours following the application are the most important! The glue is still bonding, that’s why it’s very important during this period to not get your eyelashes wet. Also you should avoid the sauna, steam rooms, sunbeds and the extensive heat. After 24h you can fully enjoy your beautiful look while having fun in the swimming pool or sunbathing on the beach. That’s why an eyelash extension is a perfect fit for summer!
- The second important point – could I and should I clean my eyelash extensions? The answer is YES! You definitely should keep your eyelashes clean. It’s very important to wash them on a daily basis if possible. The best product to use is a professional lash shampoo. It’s intended for the eye area – it will clean your eyelashes very well without any irritation to the eye. To clean lashes properly, I recommend using a small brush – this will remove perfectly the eye makeup and all the pollution cumulated on the eyelashes. Rinse the shampoo with water, dry the lashes with a paper towel, brush it and voilà!
Fluffiness guaranteed. - The secret to enjoy your lash extensions for a long period of time is simple. Don’t use oily cosmetics around your eyes – extensions don’t like it. Don’t touch/pull/rub them – brush only when needed. Something which is obvious but not for everyone – don’t use mascara on your lash extensions! If you are a fan of eyeliner, choose an oil-free one which is easy to clean.
